Anyone who follows my work knows that I am drawn to deep, emotive black and white images. I love the story they tell and the feelings they convey. Lately I’ve shared some of my work with some of the inedible communities that are out there for photographers, which has led to some exciting features 🙂
Sometimes it feels boastful sharing where my work has been featured…….but then I remind myself that as a photographer, this is one of the barometers through which I can judge the quality of my work. First and foremost, my work is for me – does it speak to me, does it make my heart sing……But it’s also nice to know if, once that personal emotion is stripped away, does the image speak to others in the same way. Do they look at it and feel something…..Being featured tells me that an image that means so much to me also has an emotive quality that transcends beyond the personal memories that I color it with……
So, here’s some of the places my work has been featured these past two months……..
The Monochromatic Lens
This image of my little one helping me wash my car was selected as a weekly favorite over at the Monochromatic Lens! I am obsessed with this site. There are so many talented B&W photographers and the Monochromatic Lens delivers so much wonderful eye candy. I was incredibly excited and honored to see my image featured on there:)

The Snappy Mama
My little girl won the “hero” theme the other week over at The Snappy Mama. My littlest and her big sister were playing superhero and there way only one mask……so her big sis picked up a marker and drew one on her sister’s face. I just can’t resist her determined little expression in this image!

The Snappy Mama Guest Judge
Last week I was offered the exciting opportunity of being a guest judge over at The Snappy Mama. I chose the theme “spontaneous” using the image below. This was my first time being a guest judge and I had a blast! The images that were submitted were gorgeous – each so varied and wonderful. Also, as part of being a guest judge I was “interviewed”. Check out the link below if you’d like to read a little more about me and my journey 🙂
